Outdoor Ministries Grants
Camperships. Summer camps are a popular choice for many families. For 2026, the Keystone Conference will reimburse parents/guardians for up to 30 percent of the full cost of going to a church-related camp, or reimburse them the full amount of what they paid, if it is less than 30 per cent of the total cost. For 2026, this includes the historic Penn West’s Living Waters Camp in Schellenberg. Living Waters also has funds available for assistance. See https://livingwaterscamp.org/
For the following camps, no form is needed. When you register, use the discount code KEYSTONEUCC2026 at checkout to get a 30 percent discount applied.
- Camps associated with the Lutheran Camping Corporation of Central Pennsylvania (Camp Nawakwa near Arendtsville, or Camp Kirchenwald in Colebrook). (www.lutherancamping.org)
- HC Spirit Camp at Hartman Center Campground in Milroy, PA, the former camp home of the historic Penn Central Conference, where the theme for 2026 is “In the Wilderness.” (www.hcspiritcamp.org)

Other Outdoor Ministries. These projects can be short-term (typically less than six months) or long-term (up to 18 months) and congregational projects with a focus on outdoor ministries. It could also include a retreat or other event for a group of adults or youth at a church-related facility. Examples of projects include renovation of a barn to provide a picnic pavilion (St. Paul’s at the Farm UCC, Lewisburg), kayak church (Faith UCC, State College), Eagle Scout vegetable garden assistance (Peace UCC, Denver), women’s retreat at camp with nature theme (Mt. Zion UCC, York), and outdoor accessibility updates (Peace UCC, Berrysburg). A well-defined purpose, a sound plan, and a way to measure success will increase the possibility of approval.
Grants will range between $1,500 and $1,500.
